Acupuncture:
At the core of 5,000
years old ancient medicine is the philosophy of Qi or Life Energy, flows
throughout the body. Qi animates the body and protects it from illness, pain
and disease. A persons health is influenced by the quality and quantity and
balance of Qi. Qi flows through specific pathways called meridians inside the
body. Each of these is connected to specific organs and glands. Meridian
pathways are life rivers flowing inside the body providing nourishment to every
cell, organ, gland, tissue and muscle in the body. However, unhealthy life
style, emotional stress, physical stress, lack of exercises, poor diet and
accidents can block or imbalance flow of the Qi. When this disruption occurs
the body is in a weakened state, illness, pain or disease can set in. After
examination acupuncturist can restore imbalance and remove blockage of Qi flow
by place fine, sterile needles at specific acupoints along meridian pathways.
Acupuncturist can also provide natural herbs to increase immune system and
strength stamina.
Type of Treatment:
Moxa:
Moxibustion is a traditional
Chinese medicine technique that involves the burning of mugwort, a small,
spongy herb, to facilitate healing. Moxibustion has been used throughout
The conditions that can benefit from cupping can be from respiratory problems,Cupping is generally used by practitioners if there is cold energy in the patient's meridians. The warm air from the cupping stimulates the skin, and the suction coaxes blood to the area which promotes localised healing. The Qi is warmed and starts to flow freely down the meridians.as well as digestive and gynaecological disorders, headaches and dizziness, and lymphatic blockages. The common cold can be tackled with cupping, as can insomnia and, of course, soft tissue injuries. The bruises resulting from cupping are not painful and only last a couple of days.
Chiropractic:
Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health.
Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches through practice drug-free, hands-on approach to health care that includes clinical examination, laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging and other diagnostic interventions to determine chiropractic treatment need. Chiropractors have broad diagnostic skills and are also trained to recommend therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises, as well as to provide nutritional, dietary and lifestyle counseling.
The most common therapeutic procedure performed by doctors of chiropractic is known as “spinal manipulation,” also called “chiropractic adjustment.” The purpose of manipulation is to restore joint mobility by manually applying a controlled force into joints that have become hypomobile – or restricted in their movement – as a result of a tissue injury.
Tissue injury can be caused by a single traumatic event, such as improper lifting of a heavy object, or through repetitive stresses, such as sitting in an awkward position with poor spinal posture for an extended period of time. In either case, injured tissues undergo physical and chemical changes that can cause inflammation, pain, and diminished function for the sufferer.
Manipulation, or adjustment of the affected joint and tissues, restores mobility, thereby alleviating pain and muscle tightness, and allowing tissues to heal.
In many cases, such as lower back pain, chiropractic care may be the primary method of treatment. When other medical conditions exist, chiropractic care may complement or support medical treatment by relieving the musculoskeletal aspects associated with the condition.
